The Colton Volunteer Fire Departmetn is pleased to open registration for the 2nd annual Rod Thomas 6 v 6 Soccer Tournament being held on Saturday August 5, 2017 at Swift Field in South Colton, NY.

The Colton Fire Department is once again organizing and sponsoring this event with all proceeds split evenly between the Fire Department and the Rod Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The format is essentially the same as was held last year, a double elimination Tourney with 30 minute games. This year, we have four divisions, High School Boys, High School Girls, and two Open Co-ed divisions, 18-30 and 31 and over. It is our plan to have four 7 team brackets for each division. Winning teams could have to play up to 6 games.

The event will have T-shirt and apparel sales available, food and drinks for sale, raffles, each participant will have their names entered into random prize drawings, and the top two teams in each division will receive prizes. The Swift Field facility has rest rooms, a playground and a large covered pavilion.

Last year’s event was a great success and we hope to make it even better this year. Please let me know your interest and it would be fabulous if we could get registrations in sooner rather than later. Should the 7 team brackets become filled, we will place entering teams into reserve. Should one of the other brackets not fill out, the Tournament Director will attempt to expand and fill brackets to fit the schedule. A schedule of game times is attached also.

Similar to last year we will accept donations of gifts and raffle items to benefit this event. Please use the attached donation letter if necessary for your donors.
